2014 Continuity Insights Management Conference Announces Keynote Session – Reimagining Homeland Security
Rockaway, NJ: Admiral Thad W. Allen, United States Coast Guard (Ret.), Booz Allen Hamilton, will deliver the keynote at the 12th Annual Continuity Insights Management Conference, to be held April 28-30, 2014 at the Sheraton New Orleans in New Orleans, LA.
Admiral Allen’s presentation will address “Reimagining Homeland Security,” a key topic given the ongoing challenges the federal government faces as it refreshes and refines its approach to homeland security and law enforcement. As a nation we must adopt a strong, future-facing strategy to transform an aggregated homeland security and law enforcement enterprise and drive the focus toward achieving national resiliency, establishing a networked approach to countering terrorism, defending our cyberspace through collaboration, and managing a functional border in the global commons.
In 2010, President Barack Obama selected Allen to serve as the National Incident Commander for the unified response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Working closely with the U.S. EPA; DHS; the Departments of Defense, Interior, Commerce, and Health and Human Services; state and local entities, and BP, he sought to bring a unity of effort to response operations. Prior to his assignment as Commandant, Allen served as Coast Guard Chief of Staff.
The Continuity Insights Management Conference is the premiere event for strategic business continuity discussion, offering unmatched opportunities to learn from and network with those responsible for the integrity, availability, resilience and security of their organizations. The conference comprises three days of comprehensive educational programming, numerous networking opportunities, a review of the latest technologies and practices, additional certification and post-conference workshops, and much more.
