Market Overview

Government Budgetary Issues Affecting Forensic Professionals as They Strive to Achieve Their Priority Objectives

Forensic Lab Managers, Forensic Scientists, Tech Specialists, Toxicologists, Computer Forensic Specialists, Medical Examiners, Crime Scene Investigators, and other professionals in the forensic field need to stay on top of their training, trends and tools and technologies needed to do their demanding jobs well.

Forensic spending globally is on the rise anticipated to reach $13.9 billion in 2014, up 8.6% from projected $12.8 billion in 2013. The United States is facing some challenges with sequestration, federal, state and local budget cuts (although state and local has been seeing recent improvements). It has been very difficult for U.S. federal employees to travel, receive continual training/accreditation, and have access to all the resources/equipment needed during these tough times.

Professionals in the forensic field face a number of critical issues including chain of custody, jury expectations, government funding, incorporating emerging technologies and validating existing methodologies. They are seeking ways to stay on top of information needed to do their jobs better and address these critical issues.

Conferences & Events

The Evidence Conference Educational Webinar Series

Forensic Magazine and DFI News have teamed up to provide educational webinars on hot industry topics monthly in 2014. Due to sequestration and federal mandates, travel to industry events and continuing education programs is not as feasible for today’s forensic professionals. In response, we have suspended our live, annual event in favor of a strong webinar series that will offer CPE credit to registrants.

We have had great success with this in 2013 with attendance between 1,000-2,000 per webinar topic. Sponsorship opportunities are available to position your company as an educational leader and provide access to many forensic professionals you will not be able to connect with in person. The tiered sponsorship model will offer a solution to fit your marketing program.
