Advantage Business Media Sells Non-Strategic Continuity Insights Brand

ROCKAWAY, NJ, December 12, 2012 - Advantage Business Media recently announced the sale of one of its brands, Continuity Insights, to its original founder, Robert Nakao. Continuity Insights is a brand focused on serving the Business Continuity marketplace through its digital publication and annual Management Conference.

The decision to sell the non-core brand Continuity Insights is consistent with Advantage Business Media’s focus on “growing and extending our reach throughout our three core vertical markets, and where applicable, complementing our media and performance-based marketing business with live events to support the needs of our readers and suppliers. Parsing Continuity Insights out from Advantage and allowing each to grow independently will benefit both organizations,” said CEO Jim Lonergan. Robert Nakao remarked that his purchase of Continuity Insights would allow him “to focus solely on growing this content-driven clearinghouse of knowledge for business continuity and disaster recovery professionals.”

Building upon their rich audience and behavioral data gleaned from 26 publications within the Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Science fields, Advantage provides one-of-a-kind, performance-based B2B marketing solutions for clients that serve these three markets. Advantage expects to use the proceeds from the sale of Continuity Insights brand to reinvest in its performance-based marketing initiatives and further grow its live events built around these target markets, including the R&D100 Awards & Conference and the Laboratory Design Conference — the latter of which will be expanded this year through the addition of a new international conference in Madrid, Spain.
